Colors of Africa

With the growing success of African music on the international scene in the late 80s, photographer Agnès Bartoll has wanted to offer these artists exposure. These portraits are a reflection of the colorful atmosphere and rhythm of their music, few painters inspired by those musics have made painted canvas. I have painted eight large paintings that were presented at the Pompidou Centre in 1989, and exhibited in the Africolor festival in 1990 and 1991.
